Hi...My husband, two sons, and I took the ghost tour this past Saturday evening. We did not see nor hear anything unusual during the tour, But did enjoy the history and stories. We took close to 200 pictures that evening. There are "orbs" on a number of the pictures. In the bar area, floating out of the "dancing" cubby, and in the basement. I keep finding more orbs as I examine the pics more closely. Very interesting. Highly recommend a tour.

My friend and I were visiting Milwaukee from Chicago for a day trip last Saturday when we came under a series of unfortunate circumstances. We lost our bag and missed our train. We had been at Shakers earlier in the night and went back to see if our bag was there and try to regroup for the night. Bob was so unbelievably kind! He’d had a cancellation in their Penthouse and offered it up to us free of charge, as long as we were okay hearing the haunted tale and felt comfortable staying there overnight. The tale was very eerie, but we decided to take him up on his offer (which saved us a ton of hassle and lots of money!) We had no problems all night and were so appreciative of his over-generous hospitality! We can’t wait to head back up and visit Bob and his colleagues!

Two Saturdays ago my husband and I were invited to spend the night at Shakers in the penthouse. We were both so excited and grateful for the experience! Once we arrived that night another couple asked me if I wanted to go up to the third floor with them. Kyle and I have been to Shakers multiple times and although we have always felt things we have never seen anything; so I wasn't really afraid to go up to the third floor with them. We walked up the stairs and into the bed room, right as we got into the bed room the lights started to turn on and off. I tried to dismiss it as faulty whirring, but then I physically saw the light switch move back and forth. When it ended the light was in the off position, I physically had to move the light switch to turn it back on. Only five minutes into the night I knew things were going to be interesting. We headed back down to the bar for a little while and then returned to the room around 1:00am. I had felt perfectly fine at the bar, and had only been drinking water.

As soon as I entered the room I started feeling extremely sick! Having passed out only a few times in my life, for non medical reasons, I knew I was on the verge of passing out. I leaned over the table and at that moment I saw a dark figure move across the room. Seconds after I saw the figure my husband saw a dark aura move up the wall. Hours passed and nothing else had happened. It wasn't until around 3:00 am that we heard a loud bang and what sounded to be like cups falling. We spent the next half an hour trying to debunk the noise and couldn't. The rest of the night we heard faint banging, but nothing else really occurred. Around 5:30 we decided we would go home in an hour, we had stayed up the whole night and were exhausted. Before we left we look a bunch of pictures.

I had forgot all about them until yesterday, before returning to Shakers last night I decided to look through them. In one of the pictures (which is posted to this link) if you look on the left in the corner you can see a women face in the curtain! What is even more unsettling if you look at the picture in the mist, more toward the front of the picture, you can see a demonic face!! There are two eyes, and open mouth with teeth, and horns. James, one of the workers at Shakers, says that there is another face in the picture as well next to the women in the curtain. After going through the photos my husband started listening to the EVP we had running all night. He has not finished going through the entire recording yet, but so far we have gotten very interesting noises. There is one part of the recording where you can hear all three of us talking, and in the background you hear screaming, and whispering right into the EVP. We were the only ones in the building. Staying at Shakers was definitely a great experience! I highly recommend that you stay the night!!!!

So I have just posted about our stay at Shakers two weeks ago. Well last night Kyle and I went back with his parents. When we were in the basement the tour guide handed us the copper rods that detect energy, as usual the rods crossed. Then the tour guide told my husband to ask it a question. So my husband said, "If you remember me move both rods to the left. Both rods uncrossed and moved to the left!!!! Everyone saw it, and as we continued to questions the spirits continued to move the sticks in the directions we asked, we even did this in Molly's room. It was so exciting! Even my skeptic of a father-in-law was shocked. At the end of the tour my mother-in-law and I were taking pictures in the mirror above Molly's fireplace. The first picture turned out normal. I asked Molly to take a picture with us and snapped the second and a third. On the way home I looked at the camera and noticed that two of the pictures were normal and one was very odd! In the picture that I asked Molly to be in, it appears as though a woman is standing in between us with. Well to be honest it looks like a women's figure but it looks like it could also be a smudge. I don't know if its a coincidence that the smudge looks like a women, if it is a women, or if its really just a smudged. The part that is skeptical but what's unexplainable is what we saw next. There is over my mother-in-laws face, and part of her chest, a black blur. We tried thinking of what could have caused the black shadow but could come up with nothing! My arm taking the picture was on the other side of her, there was nothing over her head, nothing next to her, and no one else in the room besides the tour guide. It was definitely another interesting night at shakers.

I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to you and the entire staff who worked very hard last night to ensure our party was successful. Everyone had an absolutely incredible time: the meal and the pizzas were amazingly tasteful and the presentation of the food was visually appealing, the ambiance of the roof exceeded my expectations, the ghost tours and the drink options were a big hit with our guests, and the attentiveness and friendliness of all of the staff really made this an absolutely unforgettable experience. I am also very appreciative of how accommodating and generous you have been with all of our requests, and particularly how flexible you were with the use of all of the space within your fine establishment.

Also, we think we may have had an experience in the penthouse! My brother-in-law and I placed our shoes on the floor near the foot of the bed. We left that room for a minute and when I returned, my shoes somehow relocated themselves near the fireplace. The two friends that we had in there for a drink after the party were accounted for the whole time and did not go into the bedroom. I was also the only one out of the four of us who took the ghost tour - so they were not aware of the shoe situation.

Again, thank you for an unforgettable experience.

We were there on a Friday night for the first time. We took the tour had a great experience. I my self have never been on a ghost tour and I was a little skeptical.
After the tour, I now do think there is something to this ghost that you speak of.
We took lots of pictures in the basement and up stairs. When we reviewed them the rusults were stunning. I have two pictures of rings in the mirror upstairs and a picture of what appears to be something in the pool downstairs.
Perhaps it was fate that called us there that night I am not sure. However I would highly recomended Shakers,Your staff was great, our tour guide was fantastic! We will be back again! Great time!

Jim

I have been to Shaker's three times, and I find the establishment absolutely breath-takingly beautiful with decor, fascinating with history, rich with tales. I have been on your ghost tour twice, and I am drawm in by the ghostly tales while on the tour. I find it more intregueing to sit at the bar or lounge some place on the antiue period furniture and listen to the tales of the staff encounters with the great beyond. Although I have personally yet to experience something to "rock my world, I have observed a shadow figure behind the sidebar late at night. I have also seen, (I think) a black mist form aboce the same side bar and disapate as quickly. Mind you both "encounters" have been out of hte corner of my eye, and when I have fixated my gaze upon them, they disappear...good be the absenthe, or maybe not! Either way, I find Shaker's to be my "home away from home". Thank you, I'll be back!
